AXIS Event – Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival

AXIS Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival 长菁中秋节游园会

Today, September 28th, our students, parents, and all staff had a wonderful time on campus celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival. At 8:30 a.m., before we started the celebration activities, Mr. Bill, the AXIS Head of School, delivered a welcome speech and warm wishes for the upcoming holidays.

今天上午，我们在校园里举行了庆祝中秋的节日活动，学生们、家长们和员工们都度过了愉快的时光。早上8:30，在我们的庆祝活动开始之前，由长菁总校长Mr. Bill致欢迎辞，并向大家致以节日的问候。

Following Mr. Bill’s welcome speech, students started to join the game booths. They went to different booths and experienced the traditional games and activities. This was also a special experience for parents to join the school event and play with their kids.

随后，学生们纷纷开始参加不同的游戏摊位。他们在不同的摊位上体验不同的传统游戏和活动。对于到场的家长们来说，这也是一次特别的体验能和孩子们一起参加学校活动，一起参与游戏。

After the game booth time, students were grouped and participated in the “Bo Bing” activity. “Bo Bing” is a Chinese National Intangible Cultural Heritage that originated from Southeastern Fujian Province. It is a simple 6-dice game played specifically during the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.

Students from ECC to Grade 11 rolled the dice and gained their fortune through “Bo Bing”. Either the small or big prizes they won meant they had the fortune for the year 23-24. As the sound of rolling the dice rose and fell, this was what the people celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival in Xiamen. Kids played, laughed, and enjoyed the “Bo Bing”.

在游戏时间之后，学生们分成小组参加博饼活动。“博饼”是中国国家级非物质文化遗产，起源于福建省东南部。它是一个简单的6个骰子的游戏，专门在中国的中秋节这个时间进行。

从幼儿园到11年级的学生们通过博饼活动，掷骰子，赢得好运气。不论是赢得大的或者小的奖品，都意味着他们能在23-24这一年拥有好运。随着掷骰子的声音此起彼伏，这正是厦门庆祝中秋节的真实写照。孩子们做游戏，开怀大笑，愉快地参与博饼。

As the closing activity, the Secondary Poetry Contest was held in the auditorium. We welcomed all students, parents, and staff members to watch the contest. Secondary students were divided into four teams to answer the questions related to Chinese poetry and Chinese culture and win the points. Our CAL students also performed a famous Mid-Autumn Festival song (“但愿人长久”) for the audience. Good job, AXIS dragons!

作为今天庆祝活动的最后一个节目, 中学部的诗词大赛在礼堂举行。我们欢迎所有的学生、家长和员工们到场观看。中学生们分成四队通过回答关于中文诗词和中国文化的问题来赢得比赛积分。来自CAL（中文额外语言支持项目）的学生们还为大家表演了一首知名的中秋节歌曲《但愿人长久》。长菁学子们的表现真棒！
